The Westbrook Baseball Foundation hosted a flag-raising ceremony on Friday, April 25, at the Westbrook High School baseball field.
The event honors Luther Small, a beloved figure in Westbrook baseball history and a veteran of the military. The flag being raised was donated by the Small family, who received it in recognition of Mr. Small’s military service. His name is engraved on the Memorial Stone that overlooks the field—a lasting tribute to his legacy in the community and the sport.
The Small family chose to donate the flag as a way to give back to a place that meant so much to Luther. The Westbrook baseball field, now home to generations of young athletes, was close to his heart.

Westbrook Baseball Foundation members and friends worked the ticket booth at Louie Lampron’s Paper City Hoops Classic basketball tournament earlier this month. It was the 32nd year that Louie had organized the tournament, which ran over three weekends and now offers competition for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade boys and girls. That’s a lotta hoops, Louie!
